B20 Italy - Finance & Infrastructure Task Force - Chair Carlo Messina

The B20 Italy will officially kick off on 21-22 January 2021. Confindustria is called to organize B20 Italy, the most prominent G20 Engagement Groups reserved for companies and their representative organizations. It will operate through Task Forces chaired by authoritative Italian CEOs, focused on strategic priorities of the global agenda. About Finance & Infrastructure Task Force: The pandemic crisis has severely hindered the global economy, bringing dramatic distress for individuals and companies worldwide. In order to improve resilience and foster growth, it is of paramount importance to establish an effective framework aimed at encouraging impact financing, facilitating ESG standards and circular economy, and accelerating financial inclusion. Sustainable investments and infrastructure are essential growth engines. To this end, some of the key factors are promoting wider access to capital of MSMEs and granting sourcing to new global and regional value chains, accelerate the role of technology in the financial system and promote innovative cross-border digital processes, develop tools to expand sustainable infrastructure financing and boost urban regeneration and cross-border infrastructural projects. Global financial regulation should take into account the impact of pandemic crisis on prudential reforms, aiming to increase regulatory coherence, transparency and accountability and to ensure resiliency from systemic risks. In line with the overall commitment of the B20, the Task Force aims at conveying actionable and impactful recommendations to grant growth for all and contribute to shaping a brighter future together.
