In this video, Jamie shows you how to set up your computer with Bar-i's free liquor inventory spreadsheet, and how to use this tool to improve the speed, accuracy, and effectiveness of your liquor inventory process. To set up your computer: Create a "Bar-i" folder on your C: drive -- Open Windows explorer; select "computer" and then "C: drive"; right click, create a new folder, and name it "Bar-I" "Enable Macros" in Excel -- Click "file"; select "options"; select "trust center"; select "macro settings"; click "enable all macro settings" button (at the bottom of the list in the "trust center" box; click "ok" twice, close and reopen excel To use your new liquor inventory spreadsheet: Copy the file you downloaded into the "Bar-i" folder created when setting up your computer, then double click the file name to open the liquor inventory spreadsheet Become familiar with the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet: "Previous Count" tab -- This tab will store all information from liquor inventory sessions performed at a prior date, and it can help you compare current counts to previous counts in order to troubleshoot errors that may arise "Product Info" tab -- This is where you enter your product list and pricing information "Count" tab -- You enter the counts for the amount of product you physically have in store -- make sure you enter the zone names on the spreadsheet to most effectively organize your counting "Deliveries and Sales" tab -- You can enter your deliveries using the information in your accounting software; enter your sales data from your POS "Liquor Cost" tab -- Shows your total liquor cost for the period -- the first time you use this, fill in the date (this is important for the auto-save feature used by the liquor inventory spreadsheet) "Liquor Cost Trend" tab -- Summarizes your performance over time to build up a more detailed and accurate picture of how your liquor cost is evolving Once you've completed your liquor inventory and double checked your numbers, you will run the auto save feature (Control + L) to finalize the count. Your file will be saved using today's date, and you will be prompted to fill in the ending date for the next liquor inventory period. Press "OK" and your next period will be automatically loaded onto the liquor inventory spreadsheet with blank spaces for your next round of data.
