Enjoy these timeless pancakes with a dollop of sour cream for an authentic taste of Lithuanian culinary heritage. ✅Ingredients: 8 potatoes (large) 1 onion (large) 1 egg 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp ground black pepper 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 1. Peel potatoes and onion 2. Grate potatoes and onion with boxed grater (electric grater is preferred, see the link above) 3. Onions contain vitamin C and will prevent grated potatoes from discoloration. If you don’t use onion (or other form of vitamin C) the grated potatoes will turn dark very quickly 4. Put grated potatoes into a sieve 5. Drain off excess juices 6. Return grated potatoes in a bowl 7. Add an egg, salt, pepper and ground nutmeg 8. Mix well 9. Preheat a couple of tablespoons of oil in a pan 10. Put spoonful of grated potato mix for each pancake 11. Fry them on both sides until they reach golden color 12.
