When this album (“Success Is The Lunar 5”) was being recorded at AVS Studios in Cape Town, the Square Set were also in studio and 3 of their members contributed to the album. Musicians on the album: • Vocals – Bernie Brown • Drums – Norrie Gabriels, Raymond Meade, Keith Moffat (Square Set) • Bass – Raymond “Fonkies” Charles, Derek Marks (Square Set) • Lead guitar – Charlie Ismail • Rhythm guitar – Brian de Bruyn, Norrie Gabriels • Brass – Arranged and conducted by Gerry Bosman • Piano and electric piano – Lindsay du Plessis • Organ – Nol Klinkhamer (Square Set) • Backing voices – The Bassel twins (Christina and Editha), Marietta von Witt Sound engineer – Ian Martin Bernie Brown is from Athlone, Cape Town, South Africa. He started off his career with “Lunar 5” in the 1960s, later moving on to “The Soul Conspiracy” before following a solo career. He had a South African Top 20 hit with 'Sing Out Glory' in 1971. It reached #11 and charted for 8 weeks. He left South Africa in 1971 after having worked on the Percy Sledge and Adam Wade Shows. He traveled the world as an entertainer, including the USA and Italy, before settling in Australia in 1986, where he still performs today. This song is off the album “Success Is The Lunar 5”, released in 1967. It's a cover of a Charlie Rich song from 1966.
