The crown jewels of the Calico area trails, Doran Canyon and Odessa Canyon are a draw both for their challenging obstacles and beautiful scenery. These trails are not for the faint of heart, or stock rigs. Plenty of tight squeezes, big ledges, and off-camber challenges await. The route followed here is one that has been followed by Cal 4WD Association runs for decades. It follows Doran Canyon halfway up and, short of the third waterfall, and turns up Bismark's Back Door to head up to the Bismarck Mine before going down Odessa Canyon.
