"The Observer" - art doll by Tempest Doll | BJD | art process

"The Observer" is a unique art doll made fully by me. It is a BJD (ball jointed doll) made of polymer gypsum. It took me several months to make. I wanted this doll to be an ancient creature, slowly consumed by time but still not leaving its place and chores. Remaining unchanged, unmoved, though eons have passed and left their mark on it. The creature ignores this passage of time and futility of its effort. Remnants of its past glory still peek through the patina, dust and cracks; how magnificent this creature must once have been. But all is now forgotten, and nobody would know anymore who or what this creature is; does the creature itself remember it? Is it a goddess? A spirit? What is it observing with this eyeless face? And why is it still unmoved though inevitable comes?
