Known as "The Dean of Western Writers," Wallace Stegner was born in 1909 in Lake Mills, Iowa before moving to Salt Lake City in 1921 at the age of twelve. Over the next 60 years he would write 30 books about the need to preserve the West, including his 1972 Pulitzer Prize winner "Angle of Repose" and "Where the Bluebird Sings to the Lemonade Springs," which was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award in 1992. See the collection which features multiple items including Stegner's manuscripts, journals, and personal journals he left to the University of Utah after his death in 1993.
