#recipe #warmdrinks #warmdrink #recipes #hotchocolate #spicedapplecider #applecider #hotbeverage Today I bring you a compilation of two hot drink recipes: Hot Chocolate and Spiced Apple Cider. These videos were made in late 2025 and uploaded individually on my channel. Due to a rough week I have put these two recipes together for you to make if you have not yet. Perfect for winter, fall, and/or a cold evening!! Hot Chocolate recipe is from A Gothic Cookbook by Ella Buchan & Dr. Alessandro Pinto with illustrations by Lee Henry. The recipe itself was inspired by The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde. This delicious and hot drink is perfect for fall and winter with the option of cinnamon, cinnamon stick, or vanilla pod. Can use non-diary milk. Recipe: A Cup of Hot Chocolate on a Tray from A Gothic Cookbook by Ella Buchan & Dr. Alessandro Pinto with illustrations by Lee Henry (not website available): Pour 2/3 cup whole milk into a small saucepan with 1 tsp of brown sugar. Add an option of a small cinnamon stick, a pinch of cinnamon, or 1/2 vanilla pod, split. Heat the ingredients and stir occasionally until hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and fish out pod or stick if using. Whisk in 1/3 cup finely chopped dark or semisweet chocolate until well combined. Bring it to a simmer and whisk constantly until desired thickness. Pour into a cup and add a cinnamon stick or pinch of sea salt flakes if desired. The Spiced Apple Cider recipe from the Je Me Souviens La Cuisine De La Grandmere Cookbook by the American-French Genealogical Society in Woonsocket, RI (https://afgs.org/product/la-cuisine-d.... This delicious and hot drink is perfect for fall and contains cloves, cinnamon, and a bit of lemon. Spiced Apple Cider Drink (not website available): Stud 10 cloves into 1 whole apple (recommend Honeycrisp) and place in a saucepan with 1/4 lemon chopped into chunks, 1 cinnamon stick (3 inches) cut in half, and 1 quart cider. Then bring to simmer until warm (I recommend for 5 minutes and stir a little). Pour through a strainer into a stainless-steel bowl and then pour back into the saucepan. Ladle the cider into cups and garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired. Enjoy!! Can place in a sealable mason jar or container and later reheat. Thanks for watching!
