In this video, we map an entire quarry using a DJI Matrice 4E drone with RTK positioning and demonstrate how to achieve survey-grade accuracy with aerial photogrammetry. The full survey flight took just 25 minutes, covering the entire quarry while maintaining a stable RTK connection. After the flight, we processed the data and uploaded the dataset to 13D.ai, where we generated a high-precision 3D model of the quarry. To verify the results, we compared the generated model with known reference points and confirmed accuracy within approximately 1 centimeter. This workflow shows how modern drone technology can dramatically reduce the time required for quarry surveying, terrain mapping, and volumetric analysis compared to traditional methods. In this tutorial you will learn: How to plan a quarry mapping mission with RTK How the DJI Matrice 4E captures survey-grade imagery How to process drone data into a high-accuracy 3D model How to verify centimeter-level accuracy How the entire survey can be completed in under 30 minutes Drone surveying is transforming industries like mining, construction, and land surveying, making it possible to capture accurate terrain data faster and safer than ever before.
