Bikepacking through wildfire country!

Wildfires this summer had prevented access to one of our favourite camping spots. It was time to see what had survived the devastation. I packed my Big Agnes Copperspur tent, Ice flame quilt and Light Tour mat and headed up into the hills of Moray, Scotland to investigate. At 35kms from Elgin this spot is quite a trek in, especially as there is 700m of climbing but my Giant Trance E+ 2 750W handled it (just). It actually ran out of battery 200m from my house on the return. It was heartbreaking to see all the wildfire devastation but also amazing to see how much the firemen had managed to save. Also amazing to see how much the forestry had changed things since my last visit. Whole forests had been felled and replanted in that time.
