The Upemba National Park (UNP) was once one of the most biodiverse places in the world. Emblematic species called this place home. Historical events in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), had severe ramifications on what was once one of the three most important protected areas in the country. With time, it became an illustration of what we mean by, “Forgotten Park.” Now, we are confident to say, the story is no longer the same. We are at the peak of efforts attempting to save this beautiful place. The story of Upemba is now one of a rising forgotten park.
