Serving People with Special Healthcare Needs in the Chinese Mainland
The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University is the only tertiary institution that provides occupational therapy and physiotherapy education in Hong Kong. This year, 35 PolyU students from different healthcare disciplines divided into 6 groups went to China to serve cerebral palsy children in mainland China. They use the Concept of "Play Therapy" to local rehabilitation staff and the family members of the disabled children thus providing added-value to traditional therapeutic methods.
