Corruption has a devastating impact on health outcomes, compounding inequities and undermining finance efficiencies. Almost US$600 billion is lost from health systems each year to fraud and corruption, more than enough to close the financing gap in delivering universal health care by 2030 – a key commitment made by all United Nations member states. USAID and Transparency International Global Health explore how tackling corruption in health systems is a necessary component in achieving Universal Health Coverage. Speakers include: Rebecca Turner, Senior Advisor for the Office of Population and Reproductive Health in USAID’s Bureau of Global Health David Clarke, Unit Head AI, Health Systems Governance and Policy at the World Health Organization Dr Patty Garcia, the former Minister of Health of Peru and currently Professor of Public Health at Cayetano Heredia University Sheila Masinde, Executive Director at Transparency International Kenya Jonathan Cushing, Programme Director at Transparency International Global Health
