This is the second video in a 3-part series on tumors of the spinal canal. In this episode, I talk about intradural extramedullary tumors: lesions that arise within the dural sac but outside the spinal cord itself. These are among the most common tumors encountered in the spinal canal, and recognizing their imaging patterns is essential in daily radiologic practice. The most important entities each radiologist should know and be able to recognize are discussed, namely spinal meningioma, schwannoma, myxopapillary ependymoma, and leptomeningeal metastases. The goal of this lecture is not just to list imaging findings, but to help you develop a structured mental framework when evaluating an intradural extramedullary lesion on MRI, and to feel more confident in narrowing your differential diagnosis. This video is designed for: radiology residents, neuroradiology fellows, neurology and neurosurgery trainees, and anyone with an interest in neuroradiology. 0:00 - Introduction 1:02 - Meningioma 9:48 - Schwannoma 27:10 - Myxopapillary ependymoma 37:30 - Meningioma vs. schwannoma vs. myxopapillary ependymoma 38:57 - Leptomeningeal metastases In the final part of this series, we will focus on extradural spinal canal tumors. #radiology #neuroradiology #neurology #neurosurgery #neurosurgeon #medicaleducation #medical #medicalstudent #spine #neurosurgery #foamed #medical #medicalstudent #mri #learingradiology #neuroradiologist #radiologystudent
