This video is about 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. It was an old race car found 3 years ago and prepared by Holman Moody and Pathfinder Racing into a tribute to the Tour de France Mustangs that clean swept the field at the 1965 Tour de France road rally (similar to a Targa event). 289 V8 4v HiPo. Redline is 7000rpm but I was changing at 6500rpm on the straight and sometimes short shifting to avoid wheelspin. Largely FIA spec except for the 4 wheel disc brakes). Set up for road and track use. Really needs a better set of seats to locate me for track work. Brakes are race pads - need to get heat into them to work. The tires are BF Goodrich radials - so rubbish. I was getting wheelspin at 3000rpm in 3rd gear on Turn 5 at Lightning. Not the place for that to happen. Despite that it was a blast to drive - nice and slidey! This was last session for the day. Unknown to me in the final 2 laps the drivers side rear axle seal started leaking. Fairly easy fix - just time consuming.
