The Block Development Officer (BDO) declared the resolution to be void. But then, a BJP minister Nitesh Rane and an NCP MLA came out in support of the ban for the sake of 'Hindu Rashtra'. The developments in Madhi village in Maharshtra's Ahilyanagar (Ahmadnagar) are a textbook case of how a largely peaceful co-existence between religious groups can be turned upside down in a matter of one week.
