Karen Deery, M.Ed. is an Educational Consultant with the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) in Harrisburg and holds certifications as a special education teacher and reading specialist. She is currently on special assignment to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) as the PaTTAN Statewide Lead for School Improvement, working with Intermediate Units to build capacity of LEAs designated for A-TSI and TSI to implement a cycle of improvement focused on strengthening systems and improving outcomes for students. Karen’s additional initiatives and interests include Literacy, for which she is a statewide trainer and facilitator of LETRS, engaging with schools in Pathways to Graduation (P2G), and training school staff in implementing Check & Connect and the RENEW process to increase attendance, graduation rates, course performance, and postsecondary outcomes for students.
