DISCLAIMER: DO NOT try this on an engine unless you are prepared to ruin the engine. I had to "wing it" when tightening the hose clamp, and I easily could have ruined the engine. By all accounts, the force applied by a hose clamp is uneven and not ideal for compressing a cylinder. Just because we had promising (but far from conclusive) results here, does not mean the next time will go as smoothly! Testing a CXP 15 Nitro engine after pinching the sleeve with a standard hose clamp. Conclusions: 1. It might be worth trying this engine in an actual car now to really see if it will reliably start and run for extended periods of operating temps. 2. The engine will run without the main flywheel attached (wasn't sure if the lack of inertia would be a problem) 3. This is still risky and I wouldn't try it on anything i'm not prepared to damage.
