Will 3 hours be enough time for an Italian adventure? Layover Escapes Episode 1: Bergamo, Italy

I often schedule over-cautious connection times when flying, just incase of cancelations etc, so I'm hoping this can be the start of a new series! Airports are the same the world over so every time I have a few hours to spare, I'm going to get out and explore somewhere a bit more authentic. It won't always work out I know, but I'm off to a flier here... I was flying home from Bucharest to Edinburgh via Milan with Ryanair. Then I realised it wasn't Milan at all, it was Bergamo. And Bergamo city centre is not too far from the airport, so let's try and have a mini Italian adventure with the 180 minutes I have free! What could possibly go wrong...
