DS90 — this phrase has been on every Dosco’s lips since the very beginning of this term. The atmosphere of the School changed overnight. There was a shared sense of excitement, purpose, and pride. Every boy, every master, every corner of Chandbagh echoed one thought — “This Founders has to be unforgettable.” And I truly believe — we did pull it off. The 90th Founders wasn’t just another event. It was a celebration of nine glorious decades — a living testament to the consistency, discipline, and excellence that The Doon School has stood for. This was not just a landmark of time, but of spirit — proof that our values, traditions, and standards have remained top-notch through generations. Throughout those three magical days, there were countless moments that left a mark — moments that will continue to remind us of who we are, and what we must continue to be. We saw the Old Boys return, radiating pride and gratitude as they lived out “Aristocracy of Service” — not only through their words, but through their actions. From SEVERAL inaugurations to the breathtaking drone show that lit up the night sky, they gave back selflessly to the home that shaped them. They reminded us that being a Dosco doesn’t end when you walk out of the tall gates of Chandbagh — it only adapts, deepens, and develops further. And how could anyone forget the play — one that touched every parent’s heart, reminding them of the moment their son first joined school. It had laughter, emotion, and even a surprise appearance by an unexpected actor — the cat! But our fellow Doscos handled it with such poise and spontaneity that it became one of the most memorable moments of the entire event and that’s what makes being a DOSCO special, challenges are not faced with cowardice and immaturity but with grace and passion. And of course, the Headmaster himself taking the stage made it truly historic. From extraordinary exhibitions to exhilarating Debates, the spark of celebration reached its crescendo in scintillating Pagal Gymkhana. The DSOBS matches brought another kind of energy — fierce yet friendly competition, where current boys played shoulder to shoulder with old boys. Those matches taught us what it means to play with passion, respect, and sportsmanship. Competing with them was not only an experience — it was a lesson and a legacy. This fierce display reminded us of one thing – a DOSCO does not let slip his true identity, he never forgets the school and all it has given to him, rather he embraces his status and keeps giving back to the school, a core value never which burns with pride inside every DOSCO. But what made DS 90 truly special weren’t just the grand performances — it was the little moments behind the scenes. The CDH coffee that we grumbled about every morning somehow tasted scrumptious at midnight. The late-night walks back from practice, filled with ghost stories whispered under dim lights — those are the memories that will stay etched in our hearts forever. Even though everything turned out beautifully, there’s always room to grow. Every great event brings great learnings. If we reflect and build on them, the next Founders can be even more extraordinary. Perhaps we could start new traditions — like time capsules buried each Founders, holding tokens of our times — so IN THE future Doscos can open them and relive the spirit of the past. With the end of DS90, let's not just allow this event to blow on with wind but take out the most we can from it. We should reflect on how this memorable event can be an inspiration for us to carry on and maintain the momentum. At the end of the Founder’s speeches, the lights dimmed, the guests left and cheers echoed through the Rose Bowl, there was a collected and shared smile - a smile enough to display a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction. This accomplishment was not a one day work, rather it was weeks of collaboration, hardwork, and efficiency that led to the final moment that can be cherished. The key to this success of founders was the collaboration of the doscos with each other and with the masters. With this collaboration we were able to ignite camaraderie and brotherhood. As the afterglow of this landmark celebration continues to regale our memory, the takeaway must resonate long as the winter nights set in — “Let us not only be the Doscos who celebrate legacy; let us be the ones who build it and carry it forward.” Thank you. ~ by Ridaan Mehta
