plumber's dream, secret level based on super mario bros. again, i have f***ed up the level by having a long vertical path before the downward-facing pyramid. to compensate that, the spheres move extremely slow ...so i was thinking what can make a secret level stand out? like 400 chains of 1-sphere lines? yeah certainly. yeah. let's do it to beat this level you need to rack up 3-in-a-rows for powerups to kill the spheres, and some luck like me... and shoot as accurately as possible :))) i think i will rebalance the powerups just to make it fair in the future this version is refined so that the background 200% more realistic, and also removed the path track to raise the difficulty a little bit (are you kidding this level is insane enough) (Koopa is in an unreasonable spot and Bullet Bill make a cameo in world 1-1!) there are 3 takes of me playing the level in this vid because this level is really very hard, i had 15 fails during the recording ================================= trivia/story: this is the first actual custom level i made on Evolved, just before Black Vortex, so a lot of effort and trial-and-error went into this. when i had the Mario idea and sketch it on my Keep, i really wanted to try it out (due to the vertical danger zone) to find out how it will play out. then i randomly picked a level to modify from (which is Carving The Obelisk, the background waveform is still there, and i'm lazy to remove it). i screencap the level and started to recreate the level using fragments of the Obslisk level, copying and pasting etc., then i got stuck there cause i have no idea how to make the actual path, and the path.obj to work. after a bit of Google i found scripts to export the path coordinates from illustrator, hence the path is created, but the background is still completed in photoshop. the trial-and-error part is to calibrate the coordinates from illustrator to the actual game coordinates (fuck this part). concluding this level may take around 4-5 days to make, i think. i was very frustrated 'cause at that moment i was one step from getting the level working, but am i going to write every single coordinated by hand? well not anymore, i had a pretty big spreadsheet to help me out now ;))) you don't know how fucking happy when i first saw my level working (level insane difficulty aside) click here for the original version of the level:    • Luxor Evolved - Custom Level: Plumber's Dr...   ================================= because this is a secret level, expect more based on popular arcade/video games :D soon™ (i need to brainstorm) ================================= i'm using Regaus's Luxor Evolved Mod "Luxor Re-6" as the base to hack the game, that's why the score is ridiculously high and powerups are somewhat op. click here for more info of the mod: http://spherematchers.proboards.com/t... current (tentative) level settings: 1/400/300 ( spheres per chain / chain per path / spawn streak ) 230/90-70/0.5 ( max / mid / end speed ) spawn dist. = 0.07 mid dist. = 0.2 end dist. = 0.6 path length = 2621.168 (on screen portion) total nodes = 104 (1 off screen) level made by me (pluzorminuz)
