Hope you enjoyed this 45 minutes of filming of WFA SD40 Cab ride. This railroad no longer exsist and shut down in April 2020. This trip was set up a year in advance. We arrived at the Prewitt Power plant guard shack at 5:30 in the morning on April 22, 2001. There, the foremen from WFA picked us up there. After signing releases, they drove us to the power. Three ex-B&O SD40's. WFA-1, WFA-2, WFA-3, and 53 empty hoppers to load on the Santa Fe Lee Ranch branch. This is PART II of the trip. We are pulling through the loader at Lee Ranch, and after loading, we head south to the power plant at Prewitt, NM and end pulling through the rotary dumper. This railroad is now gone and the power sold off. The coal fired power plant has been shut down with the "War On Coal", and recent news is that it may re-open as a gas fired power plant, restoring jobs in the area.
