If you like jointed rail shortline action, you'll enjoy this video for sure! Join us as we follow the Georgia Woodlands Railroad south from their home base of Washington, GA to the interchange at Barnett with CSX. This middle-of-nowhere shortline only operates twice weekly, but, that is up from their shaky schedule of maybe once per week. Business has grown and will hopefully continue to do so over the coming years with increased plastic pellet transloading and new woodchip production making up most of the traffic (as evidenced by the train's freight makeup). This day's power was a Winchester and Western GP9, a strange but nice sight to see in rural Georgia. Additionally, we found the Camak to Greensboro local on CSX that was supposed to interchange cars with GWRC. However, that appeared to be lined up on the return trip from Greensboro, and we did not stick around for that or for GWRC to return north. Shooting on the GWRC is tough as they run southwest in the morning and return around noon. Cloudy days are almost a must!
