Well, there was only one video that did a really good comparison of these two. I figured I would do one too, the way I like to see comparisons done. I used my Telecaster straight into the pedals and then into my Kemper amp. No post processing. No frills just the pedals. EHX ERD, Made in USA, and a dead nuts 'copy' of the TS circuit. EHX brought in Mike from Analogman to assist in this pedals design. Mike is second to none in TS info. I couldnt really hear to much of a difference. Aside from parts tolerances you would be hard pressed to say there is a real difference in 'sound'. Into tangible amps there is a different 'feel' to them. The ERD has a little stiffer feel to it, perhaps a touch brighter. The Ibanez TS808 has this little bit of warmth and looseness you can feel when playing. Its weird because they sound so much a like. I even used a freq spectrum analyzer to check out their eq curves. No real difference there either. Im guessing it comes down to the buffer that is in the Ibanez. In a nut shell, the Ibanez has this warmth and texture in feel I prefer. Anyhow thanks for watching.
