In a tragic stampede this morning at the newly built Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, twelve devotees, mostly women and children, have died. The stampede occurred during a heavy rush of people gathered for the auspicious occasion of Ekadashi, leaving at least 31 others injured.
