In this video, I will take you on a tour of Chloride, Arizona. This is said to be the oldest continuously inhabited mining town in the state! Founded in 1863 after silver was discovered in the Cerbat Mountains. Chloride became a bustling mining hub and even briefly served as the Mohave County seat. Today, just 150–300 people live here, but the town still brims with Old West charm, historic buildings, quirky roadside art, and fascinating mining history. We will discuss highlights like the Roy Purcell Murals, the Jim Fritz Museum, and the historic cemetery, plus trails, old mines, and desert landscapes perfect for photography and off-roading. Whether you love history, art, or desert adventure, Chloride offers a one-of-a-kind glimpse into the Old West that’s still alive today. Chloride, Arizona does have places where you can camp and stay with an RV, both in town and nearby public-land camping options. The mock Old West town in Chloride shown in part of the video is called Cyanide Springs — a recreated frontier‑style town built from reclaimed wood and salvaged materials where locals stage Wild West shows and other Old West‑themed events.
