In today's video I wanted to talk a little bit about base cards. Well... not all base cards in particular, but the idea of base cards having really good value. There are a lot of base cards that tend to hold strong values - 2008 Topps/Chrome Kobe and Lebron cards. The 2012 Crusade Kobe Bryant Card. First year Prizm. Topps Chrome, etc. One thing that is noticeable amongst all these high in demand base cards is the eye appeal. I think that in order for base cards (especially modern base cards) to have value - the eye appeal needs to be strong in terms of photo, design, etc. When it comes to vintage base cards, eye appeal is huge in determining the value between low graded cards. However, this discussion is mainly about modern base and the card I wanted to put focus on is the 2005 Topps Style 1952 Kobe Bryant card. Now this card does come in different parallels, but I wanted to take a look at the base card because I feel that it has really good eye appeal and my have some value especially in high grade.
