Hedione, a popular human isolated middle /basenote molecule was isolated from Jasmine in 1960. It is cool, fresh, semi citrusy, semi fruity and it smells a little bit like jasmine. Hedione smells a bit like jasmine, but it is certainly its OWN fragrance. Please check out my instagram instagram.com/johnsmith And my Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/MelegPer... Hedione is unique. Where Jasmine is very thick, rich, jammy fruity, sweet and indole like, Hedione smells more like the leaves and pedals of a jasmine sambac bush from a great distance… It is less intense, less sharp than jasmine absolute. If you combine headione with Jasmine absolute it will make the jasmine absolute more naturalistic, lighter, brighter, more green and more diffusive. The jasmine will float above the skin of it`s wearer. Question: Why do perfumers use Hedione? Well Hedione takes other materials, especially citrus materials, green materials and jasmine materials and it makes them smell more natural, brighter, it makes them more diffusive. A simple experiment: Take a paper blotter and drop some lemon essential oil on it. Smell it, and then 2). drop Hedione on it, wait a couple seconds, shake the paper tester strip (for some reason stirring around hedione activates it). And You will find the lemon made brightened, stronger, sweeter and more lively by the hedione. Hedione is light, and very diffusive, it`s atmospheric and it`s purpose is to make a fragrance FLOAT above the perfume wearer… Hedione gives a perfume life and atmosphere. About the High Cis Version go Hedione. HEDIONE HC. They are similar molecules, but slightly different. Hedione HC is much easier to smell, it`s more powerful, more diffusive than regular Hedione. Hedione HC is also more expensive. Hedione HC is often described as less floral, less light, but more fresh/citrusy with nuances of magnolia. Personally, I find Hedione HC a little more bitter, less sweet/jasmine than regular Hedione. Regular Hedione is lighter, more transparent and it really sparkles with transparency. Note Hedione HC will go bad more easily than regular Hedione. Try to keep light, and heat away from Hedione HC. Why does "Hedione HC" have an "HC,"? The HC refers to "high cis," it has 75% of the cis-isomer, the material responsible for making Hedione smell. Many perfumes include BOTH Hedione and Hedione HC. They play well off each other. In fact, in Aqua Di Gio, the Hedione to Hedion HC ratio is 2:1. Experiment and have fun! Either way both are super fresh, super awesome materials! Thank you Firmenich!
