Let's Play The Sims #84: The Smith Family Balance the Books

No matter how high up the career ladder you are in the sims, the bills never go away. The only exception might be if you have a lot without anything on it at all but even then there might be a small cost to the land itself. That's not forgetting that without any items on the lot, you can't feed your sims or deal with any of their needs, as you need at least a phone to call for pizza. You could buy the phone then keep selling it at the end of every day, but without knowing the finer points of how the bills are worked out there's no knowing what the cost of living would be beyond food. Dave has been close not having a simoleon to his name before, alone and with Yvette. He's quite used to making his money last, though there was a time that he spent it like he thought it'd never run out - I'm thinking about the many pizzas he ordered in the past. It may seem like it's even worse as they have Dog and the two kids to care for too but the only extra expense is Dog's food; when serving food six portions are cooked up, more then enough for everyone with a few extra just in case. All I need to do is not buy anything expensive or have something break that we can't fix - I'm lucky that hasn't happened yet - and we should be alright. I've already thought of a new goal to reach for, one that'd make the daily routine that much easier to handle. But that'll come in time. For now, let's earn a little money so they don't need to worry about the bills piling up and the consequences of that.
