The band faced additional criticism over Rossdale's good looks, with Rolling Stone publishing a controversial shirtless cover story questioning their credibility. Despite the backlash, Bush maintained a diverse fanbase, drawing both teenage girls and older listeners, and successfully transitioned from clubs to arena shows within eight months of their debut's release1 .
