Rare, unmolested, #s matching, documented, Hugger Orange RS! This Camaro was not hot rodded or abused, the 2 barrel carb has never even been swapped out with a 4 barrel. The owner we acquired it from has owned it 11 years, he bought it from the estate of a big time collector. He has kept it serviced and looking great. It includes service records and original literature including the Protect-o-Plate. EXTERIOR: Born the way you see it, the body is excellent, straight, and true. Bright Hugger Orange paint that presents itself in showroom quality condition. It’s smooth, slick, and glossy to the sight and touch. Optioned with the RS package which includes hideaway lights. Also fitted with the exterior package which includes rear louvers, rain guards, and wheel well moldings. It even has spoilers, vinyl top, bumper guards and rare DX1 striping. The glass is clear, vinyl halo top has no blemishes, weather-strips look great. All the stainless trim is nice, and the front and rear bumpers re-chromed with bumper guards. Correct 14” rally wheels with radial tires and the trim rings sparkle. The Rally doors on the headlights work smoothly! INTERIOR: Standard black interior is in excellent shape and fitting right. The door panels and upholstery are excellent, as well as the dash pad. The RS includes woodgrain trim and this one has a working optional quartz movement clock, and a blue dot AM/FM stereo. The carpet fits nicely and has reproduction floor mats. The center console is in very nice shape, with the classic staple shifter. The headliner is excellent with a working dome light. The passenger visor has the optional Chevrolet vanity mirror. Correct full set of seat belts. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Restored back to original, pop the hood and you’ll find a clean and proper engine bay. It holds its original numbers matching 327CI 210HP engine. All stock including the manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner and even it's 2 barrel carb! Reproduction radiator, hoses, shroud, and clamps were installed. Complete with horns, windshield washers and hood insulation. This RS was optioned with power steering for easy driving! TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Upgraded with a power trunk release. Nicely painted under the trunk lid, correct reproduction sticker. The jamb is painted slick and has new weather-stripping. Clean and complete trunk with nice spatter paint finish, trunk mat, spare wheel with new tire and jack assembly. UNDERSIDE: Body off restoration, everything is clean and dry, rot free. Front suspension rebuilt at time of restoration, all the bushings look good, updated shocks up front. Rear leaf springs look replaced as well as shocks. Gas tank appears to be reproduction and painted gloss black. Drum brakes all around, e-brake is hooked up. The exhaust is a dual OE style that was replaced and has the correct transverse muffler. The motor is painted nicely and looks fresh still. The trans is the correct Turbo 350 with Dec 6 68 date code. The rear end is original and has 2.73 cruising gears. The floors look solid and have been finished in a nice satin black along with the frame. Service: During our shop inspection we assessed and repaired the following items: Fixed an exhaust leak at the crossflow passages, replaced the radiator and coolant, replaced the headlight actuator, and installed new windshield wipers. This RS Camaro not only looks, but also drives like a sweetheart. Hop in this true to its originality car and cruise it around proudly.
