Moments like this occurs once in a while throughout the year. When we discover what we'd like to call a beautiful soul. In August of 2018, I was personally invited by Amboro himself to attend one of his live performances at Astori Coffee. Upon arriving at the coffee shop consisting around 10 to 15 people who were already there waiting for him to start playing, I sat quietly near the front row. It was the first time for a very long time that I stumbled upon an "actual" performance, a type of performance where you know the guy on stage is fully giving himself away to his showmanship, to his craft, and no other exceptions besides being there purely for the music. If you were there, you'd probably hear a sustained-applause; up till the point where the others were done clapping, yes that was me. I felt every song coming from him was sung uniquely and needed a proper "thank you" to end it. After his show was over, Amboro approached and thanked every single one of us for coming down. He continued to thank me until he realized I was the guy from Sunyata that he invited through Instagram DM. Not long after, we soon hooked up a date for a session at Edwin's Gallery. He performed "Amsani", "Pacaran Di Saat Hujan", and "Nonton Konser"; songs from his upcoming debut album. We remain good friends until this very moment. Occasionally, I would receive videos he'd consistently send to me from time to time. Videos of new songs he'd create. Productive.
