This is a review of The Mindscapes Tarot written and illustrated by John A. Rice. The deck was published by Hay House in 2025. His artistic medium is oil pastel, which achieves a rich, impressionist style of illustration. His mission statement is “to foster healing, introspection and creativity through otherworldly art – empowering the internal world so that we can enrich our outer world”. All the cards are landscapes, which help tap into the intuition by placing the reader in the landscape where the reader can participate in the empathy of the scene. The court cards are page, knight, queen and king. The cards are 2 ¾ x 4 ¾ or roughly 7 x 12 cm. The kit comes with 199-page guidebook, that has keywords, astrological attributions, a list of symbols, a 1-2 paragraph definition for each card, and an action to take in response for every card.
