The demo by MediaFLO's VP Product Development, Jason Kenagy was actually pretty lame: "let me show a short video"... the service does not work in the Bay Area but did roll out with Verizon in 32 cities (LA, NYC, Las Vegas...) around the US! AT&T is coming soon... maybe. Personally, I think Qualcomm's proprietary wireless video network will fail. Actually, I can sum it up in one word: DVB-H. This is going to be the standard of the future Mobile TV market and will be adopted in Europe and soon in other parts of the world, pushed by the Mobile DTV Alliance in the US, with sponsors like Intel, Microsoft, Motorola and Texas Instruments. Moreover, future MediaFlo handsets have been banned by the U.S. International Trade Commission. Qualcomm is seeking a presidential veto on the ban but I doubt it'll work. This MediaFLO thinggy is dead... next!
