Learning to knit was one of the best things that I have done to help me manage my ADHD symptoms and improve my overall mental health. I have been diagnosed ADHD for over 4 years now and have learned many ways to cope with my symptoms so that I can live the best life that I can. As someone with ADHD who feels a LOT of the negative effects from executive dysfunction issues, knitting (and crochet) has helped me feel a sense of purpose, while being able to manipulate dopamine releases in my brain that allow me to feel a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment with each finished project or learned skill.
