How to sow and organize yourself to eat lettuce all the time At home, we eat lettuce with every meal. So, I'm going to show you how to sow and organize yourself to eat lettuce all the time. 🥬To always have lettuce on hand, ready to harvest, you need a little method and good organization. In this video, I show you how I manage to eat lettuce continuously, without interruption, throughout the season. 🗝️The key is to always have lettuce at different stages of development: very young seedlings, plants in pots, lettuce freshly transplanted from the garden, and of course... lettuce ready to harvest! Thanks to this organization, I can pick one a day, every day. 🌿 Here are the different steps I explain in the video "How to sow and organize yourself to eat lettuce all the time": 🥬 Sowing in a cold frame, which I use like a real nursery. The cold frame allows you to sow ahead of time, even when it's still a little cool. I sow my lettuce seeds directly into light, well-moistened potting soil. I cover the seeds very lightly and barely press them down. Then I water with a light spray and keep the frame sheltered from cold winds and the blazing sun. The seeds germinate in 5 to 10 days. 🌱 Then, I transplant the young plants into pots when they have their first true leaves. This gives them more space to grow properly, allows me to individualize the plants, and allows me to monitor them better. I keep these pots under cold frames or in a greenhouse until the plants have four beautiful true leaves. ✅Transplanting into the vegetable garden is done about 6 to 7 weeks after sowing, when the plants are strong. I space them well (about 25 to 30 cm between each plant) and make sure to water well in the following days. 🎉Harvest arrives around the 12th week after sowing. And since I sow regularly, I always have lettuce ready! 🥬 To make this rotation work, I sow new seeds every 2 to 3 weeks. This schedule allows me to have a constant supply of lettuce being prepared, growing, and ready to harvest. It's simple, but you have to stick to it! 🎬In the video, I also show you my two homemade diagrams (very informative!) showing the growth stages of lettuce and the complete growing cycle. Feel free to use them as a guide to help you organize yourself! 📢And tell me in the comments: Do you eat lettuce often? What's your favorite variety? How do you organize your meals?
