The business end of the Breitling Avenger Seawolf 3000M comes in the form of a unidirectional dive bezel, integrated helium escape valve, mammoth 5mm thick crystal, and the convenient clasp-mounted dive suit extension. The last two features pay extra dividends to land-lubbers; that monster crystal is extra insurance against a shattering blow, and the dive clasp permits the watch to be worn externally over a winter coast in frigid climates. Inside the titanium case, a Breitling caliber 17 chronometer-grade movement keeps time to COSC specifications. Based on the ETA 2824, this automatic movement is as tough as the case around it. While ETA's 2892 is considered the thinner and finer of the two, the 2824 is the more robust. And considering the durability of the 2892, that's a serious endorsement. Additional refinements include a jump date and a stop-seconds feature for precise synchronization to a reliable reference time such as an atomic clock.
