Video process on how I create an elegant coffee table from a large slab of pine and a pane of glass. The glass came from an old desk and is rated for heavy use. I wanted to have refined lines but still wanted to keep the live edge so I ripped the wood down the middle, flipped the outside to the inside, and made rabbet cuts for the glass to rest in so it displays the live edge while keeping a chiseled edge around the outside. For the legs, I would have liked to of had them made from blackened steel but I don't weld just yet so I created the look I wanted out of wood and metallic black paint. All-in-all, it was a fun and easy project. The table doesn't wobble and is surprisingly light while the 5 coats of poly makes it durable and as shiny as the glass for a nice consistent surface.
