Welcome to the Morris Minor Service Guide Series! In this series we will be going over every service job on a Morris Minor and showing you how the job is done! Below is the full list of tools, fluids, parts and jobs with their correct time-code so you can easily find the job you need. I hope you all enjoy and let me know what you think of the video in the comments! 1:09 - Fluids required - Blue antifreeze, Screenwash, Good Quality 20/50w oil, Carburetor oil & Dot 4 Brake fluid (Only needed if there is an issue with your brakes) 2:31 - Tools required - Tyre pressure gauge, Foot pump, A large adjustable spanner or a 13/16AF spark plug socket, Tyre tread gauge or 20p piece. Daily checks - 3:27 - Check oil level in engine using Dipstick Pull out the dipstick on the spark-plug side of the engine and check the level. The oil should be between the minimum and maximum, if low, top up with 20/50w oil 4:55 - Check coolant level in radiator Remove radiator cap and check the amount of water in the top tank. There should be 1 1/2 inches of water in the top tank. if low, top up with blue antifreeze only Weekly checks - 5:55 - Check all bulbs are working correctly Walk around the car and check that all the bulbs are working. Check that the parking lights, main beams, indicators, rear lights, number plate light & brake lights all work properly. Reversing close to a reflective surface is an easy way to check the brake lights if you're on your own. 7:15 - Check brake fluid level in master cylinder Using a large adjustable spanner or a 13/16 AF spark plug socket, remove the cap on the brake master cylinder and check the level of the fluid. The brake master cylinder is located under the drivers side carpet. The fluid level should be just below the threads of the cap and if low, should be topped up with DOT 4 brake fluid. If you need to top up the fluid, that means there is a leak in the brake system which requires attention. 8:11 - Check level of the washer fluid check the level of the washer fluid bottle by seeing how full the bottle is (it should be translucent and the level should be clear). If low, refill with your preferred screenwash fluid. 9:09 - Check tyre pressure and condition of tyres Using a tyre pressure gauge, check the pressure in all tyres is 28 PSI. If low, pump up to 28 PSI. If you commonly carry 3 passengers, pump the rear tyres to 30 PSI. Also visually inspect the tyres for wear, stones or nails and check the tyre walls for cracks. Also using a tread gauge or a 20p piece, check the depth of tread on the tyres is above the legal minimum, if close or below, its time to replace the tyres. 10:36 - Check carburetor damper oil level Unscrew the carburetor dashpot filler by hand and check the level of the oil. The oil should be around the small lip below the threads in the dashpot. If low, fill with your preferred carburetor oil. Next video link - Coming soon! Follow me on Twitter - / thefatfrier
