Requested by: ‪@kashishkashchannel7293‬ & ‪@LumiCore-z5f‬ The 283 was operated by First Bus London; previously RATP DEV London using Enviro200MMC's - which suited; from Stamford Brook [V] Garage. The route ran from East Acton, Brunel Road to Hammersmith Bus Station via: East Acton Station, Hammersmith Hospital, Westway, Shepherd's Bush Market, Shepherd's Bush Station, Wood Lane and Hammersmith Broadway. I would like to thank the driver for allowing me to film at the front which made this a lot easier. I wasn't intending to do this on my phone, but my Go Pro decided to not switch on for some reason bruh. Apologies also for the rain as a result of this at the start. However, the quality got better by the time we reached the A40. The route was withdrawn last weekend on (1AM - Saturday 13th December 2025) and was replaced by a re-route of the existing 72 and N72 from White City Station and Wood Lane via A40 Westway, Bloemfontein Road and Shepherd's Bush Market Station. So now, this leaves 272 as the only route to go from Hammersmith Hospital to White City directly now sadly without any sort of support put in place - such as a PVR increase. The bus stops in this video repesent the new and current routing of 72 and N72; as well as where 283 served. This is such a stupid change as it just kills off good links with White City and the surrounding residential areas. Like even so many residents were against the change which was valid because it is just going to make things longer and even more confusing for people as well. Even me myself as someone that lives close to this change, I am even trying to get used to this. From my obervations, I believe that the Hammersmith Bridge closure from 6 years ago is to blame as the 72 used to go Roehampton. But since it got cut by the Thames, they must've seen the 283 as useless, just because both routes go from East Acton and Hammersmith. But I know once the Hammersmith Bridge - or if it ever reopens to vehicular traffic in real life; then it is going to cause a massive backlog and delay of the routes service. I feel like the money as a whole is getting invested in the wrong places, which is resulting in route cuts and unreliable services as well. They should just fix the bridge and then add more road bridges in East London as well in like Belvedere/Rainham, Barking/Thamesmead & North Woolwich/Woolwich - replacing the (Woolwich Ferry).
