Two girls, one dog, one tent… and a whole lot of wild Alaska. 🏔️🐾⛺️ In June 2025, we flew into Lake Clark National Park with plans to hike around Kontrashibuna Lake — only to find that the “trail” is more of an idea than reality. Game trails, tangled brush, river crossings, mud… basically one long bushwhack. Fueled by optimism, questionable route choices, and our 12-month-old German Shepherd Ferrari (whose bushwhacking skills far exceeded ours), we made our way through Alaska’s wild beauty — one slow, scratchy step at a time. Add in midnight sun, shifting weather, wet socks, and one very happy pup… this is real Alaska.
