Cocos (Keeling) Islands Snorkel

23 December 2024. Snorkeling tour with sea scooters. Took a bit to get used to, but they were really helpful to go deeper than I can on a breath hold or go up or across currents that were strong. Videos however weren't as good as if I was hand holding the GoPro. The motor vibrations added to the shake and it was hard to capture the scene because the scooter had to be aimed right at it. So I still prefer good old fashioned snorkeling. Spot 1 was the Manta ray cleaning station where we saw around 7 individuals at one point. Spot 2 was Direction Island Bombies and Broccoli Patch Spot 3 was the Coal Barge wreck. My favourite part of the day was near the Broccoli Patches snorkel spot, I was circled by about 5 black tip reef sharks which were so funny, as soon as you saw the one behind you, it would swim further away like nothing happened.
