Something a little different for this video. Since we started introducing Certificates of Authenticity, I've been on search for best pen that would be archival, in the sense that once written, the ink will last far into the future, but also something that looks pretty good. In the end I've settled, until the possibility of something even better coming along, with the Sakura's Pen-Touch Calligrapher Gold 5.0mm. But here's a little more of my thoughts on the pens, along with a list of the pens used. Gold Ink Pen Test Pen 1, Molotow ONE4ALL Acrylic 127HS-CO 1.5 Acrylic based paint marker, 228 Metallic gold Pen 2, Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen Metallic 1.5 Gold 250** Pen 3, Sakura Pen-touch 0.7mm extra fine point. GOLD / OR / ORO Pen 4, Uni Posca Gold / Oro 25 0.9 - 1.3 mm Pen 5, Sakura Pen-Touch Calligrapher Gold 5.0mm quick dry-permanent- opaque My thoughts on the pens. Molotow's ONE4ALL is a very nice pen to write with it, and so too is the Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen if you don't care for the gold to have a shiny pigmentation. As you can see their inks seem to be a more yellow gold, without the metallic pigment of the Sakura pens. As for the Uni Posca Gold pen, it's entirely possible that there are much finer pens of this variety, but this particular size of nib just leaves the line work a bit muddy. While I think the Sakura Pen-touch 0.7mm extra fine point is one of the better pens i've tried, and it has a nice gold shine after it is applied, it is prone to leaking. I would say about every 10 to 15 cards I would sign with this particular pen, the gold will spill out the sides and over a card, which of course the card then has to be discarded. In some ways, 1 out of say 15 cards is still not too bad, and it has a great gold effect...and they dry reasonably quickly, thought I usually leave them a few minutes to dry just to be sure. I like Sakura's Pen-Touch Calligrapher Gold 5.0mm the best out of these pens because it gives the same gold shine as the Sakura Pen-touch 0.7mm extra fine point without the leakage. I am not saying they don't leak, but I have just never seen it personally and I've probably signed a good 60-70 cards with this pen so far and all has been good. The only draw back is that this pen is more ideal for calligraphers, of which I am not. So I tend to turn it to the side a little to avoid the calligraphy effect, and it seems to work quite well. There's a pen that's a bit of a cross between the Sakura Pen-touch 0.7mm with a felt tip, similar to the Sakura Pen-Touch Calligrapher Gold 5.0mm but a more pointed nib. It's called the Sakura Pen-Touch Fine with a 1.0mm nib. Sometimes the reviews are a bit hit and miss on it as some say it leaks like that of the 0.7mm Pen-Touch. I personally have not had any leakage with the Calligrapher Gold 5.0mm, and so at the moment it's the go to pen for signing certificates of authenticity. In future I may try to the Sakura Pen-Touch Fine, but as they say, stick with what works, so for now the Calligrapher pen it is!. www.tarotcollectibles.com www.facebook.com/tarotcollectible/ www.instagram.com/tarotcollectibles/
