We bought what might be the most ridiculous Dodge Dart in America — a 1965 Dodge Dart body sitting on a 1974 Dodge Power Wagon 4x4 frame — and decided to send it. In this episode of Rod Knock Ranch, we tear into a 318 small block Mopar, diagnose a failing engine, and attempt a budget-friendly rebuild using Marketplace parts, Summit Racing runs, and pure determination. What started as a simple engine swap quickly snowballed into a full bottom-end teardown, camshaft upgrade, crank swap, and a full engine rebuild — all under a serious time crunch. After the rebuild, we fire it up for the first time, break in the flat tappet cam, fight carb issues, swap to a budget 600 CFM carb, and finally hit the road to seat the rings. Once the Dart proves it can survive the street, we take it where it definitely doesn’t belong — mud, water, rocks, and a 4x4 park. This isn’t a show car. This isn’t a clean build. This is DARTZILLA and we’re finding its limits. If you like engine rebuilds, budget builds, sketchy swaps, and off-road chaos, make sure to like, comment, and subscribe for the next episode — we’ve got something special planned for Dartzilla.
