It had frozen right across to the other side. The only clear bit was where the dredger was working. After here, I drove up to St. Helens church to park and then walk down to the boardwalk. The boardwalk was extremely icy / frosty but quite ok to walk on. From the bird hide, I was able to see a whole array of different birds.
