🛕 Neelkanth Mahadev Temple Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva (Neelkanth) located in the hills near Rishikesh. It is one of the most sacred pilgrimage places for Shiva devotees in North India.  📍 Location • About 32 km from Rishikesh in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.  • Situated at around 1,330 meters (4,364 ft) above sea level.  • Surrounded by forests and mountains between the valleys of Manikoot, Brahmakoot, and Vishnukoot.  🕉️ Mythological Significance According to Hindu mythology, this is the place where Lord Shiva drank the deadly poison (Halahala) that emerged during the Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean) to save the universe.
