Jodie Comer gives a hell of a performance in a powerful new story, and yes—it’s messy, but worth it. 💔 Materialists – Celine Song (Past Lives) returns with a sharp, stylish romantic dramedy starring Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Evans. Subtly funny and loaded with great moments. 💣 Bride Hard – Rebel Wilson stars in a Die Hard-meets-destination-wedding action comedy that completely fumbles the tone. A misfire. 🛡️ Ironheart (Disney+) – Marvel returns to Disney+ with a surprisingly focused origin story. Anthony Ramos, Dominique Thorne, and Alden Ehrenreich bring it together. Better than expected. 🤼‍♀️ The Queen of Villains (Netflix) – A gripping documentary about Dump Matsumoto and the heyday of women’s pro wrestling in Japan. Great energy and archival footage. 📀 Physical Media Picks: 💿 Three the Hard Way – Blaxploitation classic with Fred Williamson, Jim Brown, and Jim Kelly, finally on Blu-ray. 🩸 Karla – A dramatization of Canada’s most notorious killer couple: Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo. Disturbing subject matter, handled with mixed results. 🕵️‍♀️ Murder, She Wrote: The Complete Series – The full Jessica Fletcher saga. 50 discs. 12 seasons.
