This video is a proposal for controlled legalisation of marijuana in the UK because it is a more cost-effective drug policy for the government, it is safer for communities by bringing a previous shadow market into the public eye with governmental regulation for consumption standards, marijuana is less harmful to societies than already legalised alcohol and tobacco smoking, and reduces crime in our communities. Also many countries have seen these benefits from such controlled legislation, including most famously the Netherlands and Uruguay and more recently many states in the USA and Canada. Whilst drug policy is generally a low priority, it is also a sexy media item covered by news outlets. Therefore after the first couple shots containingvarious people saying legalisation, the next shot shows old news headlines about marijuana legalisation and its benefits. Following old news headlines, which is regarded by many people as a strong source of information, several shots follow with the reasons that marijuana should be legalised, including more legitimate use rather than abuse by consumers, generally violent crime reducing by 15% after controlled legalisation, a legal marijuana industry being one of the biggest contributors to economic growth, police getting back 1 million hours of their time to fight more violent crime, medical benefits including fighting cancer and muscular sclerosis and slowing AIDs and relieving pain, and that the benefit of more sex for society meaning happy households and more young people for society. Moreover, legalising marijuana in the UK should involve regulating marijuana so supply is controlled by the government, the government controlling supply of marijuana, and being able to measure its supply and use as well as the effects of legalisation. The next shot follows with three key reasons for legalisation: it is safer for society and consumers, more cost-effective for the government due to reduced policing, and leads to more social inclusiveness as a result of reducing crime and creating more potential legal job opportunities. The final shot sums up legalisation as helping to build our society. Whilst some of the contents of the video are slapdash humour, the message is serious and hence there is no music in the background.
