Here's how I beat the race in Mafia: Definitive Edition. Hopefully you can take some tips from this video and be on your way to unlocking the "Supercharged" trophy and ultimately "The Original Gangster" platinum trophy! I too was almost defeated by this mission. This was the one thing that stood in my way of the platinum trophy for this game. A bit of advice: Go against your natural instinct to overtake and get in 1st place. The race is scripted so logic doesn't apply. Instead, use cut throughs to get ahead. All the parts in between you should focus on keeping steady and avoiding scripted crashes. Don't break. Instead tap the ram button repeatedly to avoid spinning out. This will also keep you straight for more speed. You can also use a combination of tapping the breaks and the ram button simultaneously, whatever works for you. Ignore other cars. Pretend you're the only driver on the track. Don't worry if cars overtake you. You have a handful of opportunities to overtake them on the grassy areas. Use tyre markings to your advantage. These indicate when you should be breaking. I found it more beneficial to break just as I pass the markings, then use the ram button to keep me centre. Lastly, stay calm! Good luck!
