If you're tired of blending in, it’s time to swap those useless plastic bumper vents for some Sequential LED Turn Signals. In today's bad example installment, I’m tearing into the front bumper of the wife’s car to add that "Hi" light pattern. What you’ll learn (or learn to avoid): The Wiring Mystery: Decoding the "Bumblebee" and "Kelly Green" wires so we don't blow up the hybrid system. Fishing for Compliments: Using a coat hanger to fish wires through a hybrid engine bay Posi-Tap vs. T-Taps: Why I’m using the fancy Posi-Tap connectors for this "wet location" instead of the cheap razor-blade T-taps. The "Frankenstein" Moment: One side blinks, one side doesn't. Watch me find the stray wire causing the chaos. (spoiler: it was my fault). Startup Sequence: Seeing the final "Hi" pattern in action. It’s definitely different, and sometimes weird is good. 🛍️ Parts & Tools Used 🛠️ I used the Vektoris Sequential LED Bumper Lights for this install. They are IP67 waterproof, dust-proof, and designed to fit the 2024-2025 Santa Fe bumper perfectly. They function as a white DRL and switch to a scrolling amber sequential signal when you turn. Another great option is the KEEGTBOX LED Bumper DRL. It features high-quality ABS construction and the same sequential signal flow. It's basically a "plug-and-play" replacement for those non-functional louver vents. To make sure these lights don't rot out after the first rain, I used Posi-Tap Connectors. They are significantly better for "wet" locations like under the hood because they don't compromise the wire's structural integrity like a standard razor-blade T-tap. ⚠️ Disclaimer: I am not a professional. I am a bad example. If you poke the wrong wire and your car starts talking to you in Korean, that’s on you!
